  2. not really any difference on anything bar maybe some disc compatibility.
if you have the 1.06,just stick with it just now, till more info is available.
that would be the safest bet.

Yeah, stick with that for now, but use some of the hacks that will be coming from this site: http://forum.firmware-flash.com/viewforum.php?f=10

Soon you can burn cheap 1 x Ritek G03 at 2x and still be able to burn Ritek G04 at 4x. So really you just add options for yourself. Don't worry, if you dont like any firmware upgrade, you will be able to revert to your original version.

  4. This site has version 1.09. What is the real current version for a A06/106?

  5. The firmware you were looking at was for the DVD-106, not the DVR-106. THe DVD-106 is a plain ol' DVD-ROM drive. It's really pioneer's fault for making them so simlilar in name.

Thanks for your help guys. I had another look on the Pioneer site (http://www.pioneer-eur.com/eur/support_software.jsp?category=support/software#fdvdwriter) and it said DVDR 106 firmware upgrade NOT DVD 106. I have not done any firmware upgrades tp my writer and I don't have any problems, I just wondered if there was any advantage to the latest upgrade.
