  2. Your use of the word "burn" is a bit loose and could use some clarification.

If you mean can you copy discs that have already been recorded, thereby "copying a copy" - the answer is Yes.

If you mean can you record onto discs that have already been recorded - only if they are multisession discs and haven't been finalized can you "burn" onto them thereby adding another session, which to make readable on other systems you would have to finalize at some point.

  3. My guess is that you mean: can you make a backup copy of a DVD from a backup copy? If you made that backup copy with DVDXCopy, you cannot make a backup of the backup if you are still going to use DVDXCopy. That program encodes the backup to prevent making a second backup from the original backup. Of course, you can make additional backup copies from the original. You can, however, make a backup copy of a backup created with DVDXCopy using another copy program (ie:CloneDVD, Instant Copy). And, if you made the first backup with one of these later programs, you can make backups of backups of backups. I'm not sure why you'd need to do that but it is certainly possible.

  5. Hmmm, that is strange!

Why would DVDxcopy encode the backup to prevent making a second backup from the original backup?

So if your original disk gets ruined and all you have is the backup and DVDxcopy your basically screwed? Naturally if one disk got ruined already you need another for backup! Your down to one disk and have to go looking for other software quick before that disk dies also or you will have NONE.

Makes me want to run out and get the program

As for first post, you can copy a copy, multie sesion you can write more sessions up till you close the disk or run out of space. But once you burn a disk normally, no you cannot burn over that data a second time. That would be a RW disk you would do that with, not R.

DVD X Copy has done this to cover their asses because they've already been sued like 10 times by motion picture companies.
