Okay I need some help here
I have a pinnacle pctv deluxe usb capture device
I recorded the knicks vs. pacers 1994 game 7 last night. Instead of choosing dvd long play as capture option I choose DVD, which is suppose to be the best quality.
Anyhow, the file size was originally 5.5 gig, I took out the commercials with tmpge and now the file size is 4.68 gig
WEll I need to get the file size down to 4.34 gig to put it on 1 dvd
How can I do this? Is there a way do it?
Any suggestions appreciated
Thanks in advance
One other question. What is the MAJOR difference between dvd and dvd longplay. I noticed the bitrate, but whatelse?

Try downsizing it with DVD Shrink, anyway you will have to reencode it (DVD Shrink does the job). Maybe compression 1 is OK.
good luck. -
Hi
Macm is right, Transcoding using DVD Shrink is quick and probably the fastest way.
There are also a few other possibilities.
If original is PCM audio ,reencoding to mp2 or AC3. If so, you can save about 8 MB/min or 0,7 GB for 90 min.
Reencode video (with TMPGenc or other). This will give better result than using DVD Shrink, but you may not see the difference.
So check audio format, and if not PCM, try out DVD Shrink. Only if quality loss is too big, reencode video.
