Hey guys, i just watched the new movie called "Identity". I am very confused. Can anybody give me a summary of the movie?? Thanks.

  2. what are you confused about? Movie was dumb as far as i'm concerned... but compared to movies like House of 1000 corpses and Phone Booth..it should win a grammy.

I actually figured out the kid was the killer early in the movie..was pretty obvious...they were making it too obvious it would be the convict....there was still too much time left in the movie when it was found that Ray Liotta was a convict too.... also...the Bald, Fat guy in the movie didn't look like any of the characters in the movie...even many years later.

Take all this with the fact that the little kid seemed weird as hell ...then there you go.

As far as understanding the movie...basically...the Fat guy at the end of the movie was the little kid in the movie many years later. You understand that..right? Basically..the guy was skitzphrantic... have no clue how that's spelled....but he had split personalities. Apparently, some skitzo's have one split personality..while others can have countless.

This is what the kid had. There was more to it though..he basically fabricated ....I believe it was "FOUR" other personalities which were people that just weren't there. There were 5 or 6 other people that were REAL...and that's who the kid killed..... maybe it was actually three personalities he fabricated.....it was so dumb as far as I'm concerned..I didn't pay attention to the numbers.

But as I said..he basically made up several other "persons"....I think Ray Liotta was one of them..one of the blonde girls was the other....I think that's why when the car blew up..and you end up seeing the kid walk away...there is no girl inside...that particular girl was one of his personalities. There was one or two others who were in his head......which didn't exist...and the kid was the killer the entire time.....the people that did exist...he did kill.

At the end of the movie you see the kid as an adult getting ready to be executed....he gets off and gets to go to an insane asylum....and he sets up the Dr. to open the window.....lol...of course it's in the middle of nowhere with one other goofy driver UNARMED of course...why would he be armed....not like he was driving a killer or anything.

    You understand now?

That's what I got from the movie....if I'm missing something....I could care less...lmao...but someone else should feel free to put in their take.

Its alright if you can understand movies that have hidden clues and can understand a full twist at the end with so many things coming at you that your brain practically blows up. Maybe I'm the only one that can't understand the movie. Let me know if anyone else can't understand, I feel like an outkast.

I loved the movie!! As the movie kept going, I got more and more into it. And became more and more interested in what happened.

    @defense
I agree on House of 1000 corpses, but I personally liked Phonebooth.

  7. @ tgpo... the reason I didn't like Identity was not because of the "suspense." Everyone who seems to have liked the movie says so because of the "suspense" factor. I mean..I can name countless movies which were just more exciting and enjoyable and just as suspenseful as identity. Movies like "THE GAME" and "PRIMAL FEAR" ....
"JUST CAUSE" .... even "WILD THINGS." I think it's crazy that Hollywood could put out a movie like Identity.

I mean, ANY MOVIE can have twists like that..it really isn't that difficult...but the question is..is the story really capturing and believable? Primal Fear damn sure was...as were the other movies I named...but Identity? ....hummmm....I don't know...maybe it was because I figured it was the kid from the beginning....it just seemed too obvious that even before you knew about the skitzophrenia ....the movie was driving too hard at the convicts and other people. And even all the way til the end...I mean C'MON...TWO..."TWO" DRIVERS ONLY...taking this Killer to a nut house?...C'mon....and BOTH UNARMED...LMAO..it's just not believable.

Now, you take that and compare it to a movie like CON AIR where all the guards are HEAVILY ARMED...but accomplices come and kill the guards..that is REALLY BELIEVABLE....but to be tranporting a KILLER...with ZERO WEAPONS? OH...and not to mention that it just so happened to be in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. I'm not even harping on the fact that the Dr. opened the window...because it was clear he believed in the guy...but DAMN....the other driver sitting there with that goofy look...nothing to defend himself....just ridiculous...no other cars for hundreds of miles....well....that's just why I feel the movie wasn't that good. I don't think it COMPLETELY SUCKED..I just thought it was dumb. But hey...that's what makes the world such a diverse place...everyone has their own opinions.

Now as far as phonebooth goes....that was also suspenseful because some shit like that I can see happening...but it was just overexaggerated......and I thought the acting was pretty pitiful personally....I like movies which..when you watch them..you feel like you're there..or you can relate to the movie somehow....I didn't get that from either of those movies...and House of 1000 corpses....well..I already commented on that movie....i'm not kidding when I say that movie was ABSOLUTELY the worst movie i've EVER SEEN. No exaggeration..the ABSOLUTE WORST.....and to think that when you look up the category of that movie..it's ACTUALLY listed as "HORROR"...you REALLY GOTTA BE KIDDIN'...it should be listed as 'CC' ...CRAP COMEDY.

yes it did!....it damn sure did! lol..and man..i'm not big into actors and actresses...I have been moreso since i've joined the forum...I just used to take for granted being sucked into a movie by good acting..but not anymore...ANY solid actor or actress catches my attention.

And there was some SERIOUS acting in "THE GAME".... Michael Douglas...Shawn Penn.....just a damn good movie..EXCELLENT PLOT..and I did not figure that one out...had me completely spun the entire movie....needless to say...that was one of my first backups....

I agree about The Game. Good story + good acting = good film.

How about Memento? I thought that was a pretty original concept too.

Definitely another great movie..with more great acting...I never knew that one actors name..but i've seen him in so many movies..and he's on a series on T.V. ..."JOE PANTOLINO" I think the guys name is...that guys a damn good actor....and Memento was a damn good movie...

  13. ....You can add "THE LIFE OF DAVID GALE" to the list of damn good plot..solid acting..excellent twist suspense plots. Just watched it...and i'd definitely reccomend it to ANYONE who loves a movie with a twist...but in addition..loves a great plot with great acting...which is what I felt moviesl ike Identity lacked heavily in. The twist was there...but it wasn't a hat trick.
