    Hi,

Are you capturing from another video-source (eg. pass-thru) or directly from tape???
If you are capturing from tape then I suggest to use a head-cleaning cassette before you start capturing any video...
Since the video is recorded digitally, dirt on the video-head could disturb reading of the digital data from the tape and thus pixelation of the output video occurs...
If a cleaning tape doesn't help, then probably the video-head was allready dirty while recording. In this case there is nothing you can do...

I always suggest to use a cleaning tape after every 8 hours of recording/playback. So that the videohead is alway in good condition...

If you are capturing video with the pass-thru option, it could probably be a bad fireware cable, bad firewire card, bad drivers, bad capturing software or your camera needs service...

Did you tried another firewire cable??? or another firewire card??? (eg. try it on another computer from someone you know)...

It really looks like that the data that is coming into the computer is distorted (eg. lost some bits)...
