The RIAA (or local equivalent) has tracked you down. You can not pay the fine. The alternative punishment is banishment for 1 year on an uninhabited island.
But it's not all bad. They've supplied a hut, regularly scheduled drops of food & drink by 'copter, and left you a VCR/DVD player, a lamp and a generator with enough power to last your term.
You are also allowed to bring:
2 videos
2 books
2 music CDs
2 personal objects (and, no it can't be a companion, or boat or any other way to escape!) :cD
1 gaming console and,
2 games
What would you bring?

Why, thank you, Housepig! :c)
And very clever with the laptop. I'm ashamed I did not think of that. You could then have as much music, video and reading material as you'd ever need. :c*There's no place like 127.0.0.1

No stored files.
You can use it only as a journal or to do drawings and stuff.
- a PS
Due to this oversight on my part, I'll make a concession. You can bring a laptop but with no files, only software for word processing & graphics creation.
However, you may now also bring (1) one gaming console (not a computer - unless with the same limitiations of a laptop) and (2) two games.
I'll change it above to match. :c)There's no place like 127.0.0.1

Great topic Gees it makes me think of two funny commercials that aired here in the US(both spoofs of Castaway):
FedEx:Man is stranded on deserted island with only his volleyball and a FedEx package,he is finally rescued and delivers the package to the rightful owner who opens the package and pulls out a satellite phone and extra batteries.
Budweiser beer:Man is stranded on island and keeps finding empty budweiser bottles on the beach with a love letter inside that says"I'm sorry please forgive me",he cries out "why god do you keep tormenting me".He is finally rescued and goes to the home of person who was writing love letters and punches him then says "I forgive you".

Moviegeek -I never saw those! Thanks! :cD Aren't you going to post your choices?
BJ_M - very clever indeed! :cD But now you should list every title on those compilation discs! :cD Otherwise it defeats the purpose of finding out about people, except that some are very slick and always try to beat the system! :cD Guess that says something in itself. :c)
- still a hero though :c)There's no place like 127.0.0.1

One large "Do all" knife. A good pair of hiking boots.
Assuming that other clothing and things like toothbrush included with the regular food drops. It is a civilized banishment after all.
The other things can stay home.
RIAA come get me!

ice-9 is an irc robot designed to capture urls pasted into channel and allow users to comment on them, creating a "live" blog. It does its best to handle urls intelligently, preventing duplication and ordering based on latest conversation topics.

I personally would like to live without the computer for a year. I'd take paper and pens and pencils instead.
