  1. My dvd player play's my vcd's audio and video out of sync. I just spent hours encoding a vcd to a dvd and when I went to play it on my dvd player it was still out of sync. The reveiw of my dvd player says that it plays vcd's out of sync.

Is there a program that can bring the audio and video more into sync to match my dvd player or should I just get a new dvd player?

If it plays good on your PC, then get a new player. Especially if you already know :

Why make a modified disk that will only play on that player?

I got a Norcent DP 300 at Wal-Mart. $50. and plays everything I make great.

  3. I might get a new dvd player. Is there a way to improved vcd quality when converting to dvd compliant files?

  4. Not really. You aren't going to get any quality improvement over the original file.

However, if you have the ability to burn DVDs, you maynot need a new player. Just take the files from the VCD and burn them to a DVD instead. There is absolutely no encoding required and your player may not have the out of sync problem on a DVD disk.

  5. I converted the vcd (mpeg1) to dvd (mpeg2) and did put it on a dvd. My dvd player plays it out of sync. Should I just buy a new dvd player?

I dont want to make a dvd-vcd, I want to make a dvd.

Does anyone know why Ulead dvd player wouldn't play my dvd-rw?

  6. Well, if your player does not play the DVDs correctly, I would just get a new one. Like double said, you can get a cheep one that plays your disks just fine.

You could just intentionally make the audio out of sync so it will seem ok on your player, but that is alot of work to make a disk that will only work on one particular player. In the future you may regret doing that.
