I see them all the time, but don't know how to do it?
Could someone please explain how to take a screenshot of progressive work on a program?
It would and does make things alot easier to explain one's methods to someone else!

    Thnx in advance, Burnsy.

Simplest way is your Print Screen button :c) - then paste into any graphics program.

But you can't grab video stills that way. For that there's functions in PowerDVD or WinDVD, whichever you use.

There are also lots of stand-alone progs to do it, such as Hypercam. Freeware & sharware verions. And some graphics programs (I use PaintShop Pro) provide the function as well,

  3. The simpleist way is to press the print screen button, then open up MS paint and click on paste, the whole screen will be pasted as a new image. You can then size it as you wish.

Or if you have software such as paintshop pro, there is an option to do a screen capture. You then click and drag the selection you want.

So this screen shot means nothing, other than a test to see if it works.
    Thnx guy's.

did you take a screenshot of a little red "x"?

    :cD

Just kidding. To show it here in forums it has to be a maximum file size of 50kb.

You reference it with the img tags and then browse to it below the message box.

    Oh, and you're welcome. :c)

File size is only 22.7kb, so Y didn't it work??? Any ideas?
It was saved as Jpeg, it started out as 63kb or close, so I "strech&skewed" it in MSPaint, and changed it to 22.7kb???

Did you put IMG tags before & after? Did you browse to it and choose it to upload here?

The directions are on the message entry page.

No, but reading does help sometimes. :cD A lost art.

Don't use spaces in the filename.....you can use it but you must then replace the spaces with %20 /Baldrick

Do I have to type the "whole" file name, as in root directory etc?

Sorry if this is getting annoying!

Type IMG filename. gif IMG in your post where the image should be. JPG,GIF and PNG are the allowed formats and the max file size is 50 KB. To add more images or update them, first post one image and then click on the EDIT button on your post.
Note! Replace filename.gif with the file name of the image and don't have any spaces in the filename. Don't use the Preview if you are uploading images.
This is what it says just under the edit box. I can't say it any clearer that Baldrick has already.

Just one more question, "no pics", do you guy's use .jpg or .gif, 'cos I found that .gif makes bigger file size with lesser quality picture??
    Does this sound right?

:c) The "rule" - for web use - is use jpg for photographic sources, gif for the rest (like text) but I see a lot of people use them interchangeably.

If you want an animation - but PLEASE don't ask me how you do that! :cD - it must be .gif
