1a) no, it doesn't keep the menu
1b) I don't know
2)It will calculate the right bitrate and does a very good job of it -
Umm, if you want to keep the whole movie, menus and all, why are you even using this program?
Use the right program for the right tasks, says I.

I ain't got any links offhand but I'm sure they will be one or two in the guides section so go have a look
@Gurm, I guess he still wants to use CCE as the encoding engine for the main movie to keep the quality high. In the past I would have used this option but not anymore as the quality produced by the simpler programs is good enough for me -

for the price of a blank disc now, it's worth it for the time/effort saved than using the CCE method to keep everything on one DVD. If the quality is going to suffer due to the size of the movie, even when using IC then I will blow the dust off CCE but I haven't had to recently
If I really want top quality then I'll just pull out the original for special occasions
I guess I'm getting lazy now but then again I don't back up that many DVD's now as I've done most of my collection anyway and most of the big boys were done with CCE and done the hard way -
To be honest, if you can afford the kind of TV you need to see the difference, you could afford the second DVD.
I have never been a big fan of wasting 6-8 hours on a re-encode when a simple transcode will do.
