I just want to know how toproperly configure the advanced settings within the XviD Codec. I don't get the whole deal with the B, I, whatever-frames. I just have this feeling I can reduce the bitrate on my home videos and still get the same quality that I have been getting if I just configure things a bit more thoroughly. I did a 1-pass with a a video clip a ways back that had a decent amount of motion in itwith 1445 as the bitrate and it came out as 11.8 MB for 60 seconds. I am just wondering if I can get the same quality if I do something different with the settings. 10 Mb/Min is what people are telling me...

For starters, you need to use multipass. Any low bitrate single pass DivX is going to look bad compared to what you can do with multipass. Try a small clip and see the results yourself. Pay special attention to high motion scenes, and scene fades.
Impossible to see the future is. The Dark Side clouds everything...
