  1. What gives the best quality when captureing DV (via firewire) to DVD MPEG2 format, CBR or VBR? I usaully capture at 8000 to 9000Kbs using Ulead Mediastudio7.

    you could always try both ways and judge it yourself .. because you will get views from people both ways ..

  3. Well best quailty = CBR at Maximum possible bitrate, you cant do better then max.
    Ejoc's CVD Page:
    DVDDecrypter -> DVD2AVI -> Vobsub -> AVISynth -> TMPGEnc -> VCDEasy

    DVD:
    DVDShrink -> RecordNow DX

    Capture:
    VirualDub -> AVISynth -> QuEnc -> ffmpeggui -> TMPGEnc DVD Author
