I want to buy a new PC. I want something "custom" but I don't want the hassle of putting in the motherboard, RAM, CPU, so I am thinking a barebones PC is a good compromise.
Looking for recommendations on some U.S. vendors.
Thanks.

http://www.Tigerdirect.com maybe.

The shuttle XPC's are decent. Not the fastest machines, but will work well for encoding and stuff with a P4 or AMD in it.
What about Gateway?
There are also more places than you can shake a stick at to make your machine. So many I can't even think of the ones I looked at as being good reliable sources.
What about BestBuy or maybe CompUSA, both say they do some custom machines.Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
