  1. It's seems that every few days an argument breaks out over Nero. I thought a poll might be interesting.

  2. Sure does for me, I like it, but it appears many people do not.

  3. Seems to me that it either works perfectly for people (myself included) or really badly, with very little in-between.

great! another excuse for a flame war

can't people accept for some it works and for some it doesn't, you don't need threads like this

move on people, nothing to see here

mods, I don't want to tell you how to do your job but I thinks it's a good suggestion if you close this thread now as there is nothing going to be said that hasn't already been said in the last 50 threads regarding Nero success/failures and it's juts going to end up as a slanging match like the rest of them. the boards shouldn't be filled up with crap like this evry so many posts

it would be good if you could still post to vote though but the sooner this thread dies the better

Which of the quadrizillion released versions?
I've yet to see a version where all advertized features worked - it seems that they always leave something new (or old) out in each release.
So, no, it doesn't work for me. I might take a new look at it when the latest release is more than 3 months old...

Could you make another option of 'Partly'
When I use Nero it plays fine in my DVD writer and in my player, but it can never be seen in mp DVD-Rom drive....
It is quite an old one which might explain it.

The problem is the same with RN Max.

The only program that I have tried that works perfectly in all 3 drives is CloneDVD which i use just for burning.

So there you have it. It does work and it doesnt work.

I was originally wondering if I should add such an option and thought I would wait to see if anyone wanted it. I'll add it.

a poll asking what burning software people use would have been a good idea and also asking for sensible replies and not to post such 'n' such 'sucks' cos it didn't work for me

you can vote again because you've added an option , so I voted NO again

It isn't letting me vote again.

Why would you vote No when you use Nero???

I could actually just vote again unless I didn't vote in the 1st place and I was just having a private joke with certain nero bashers

I do know of people who have had issues with nero but then overcome them and stay with it and I can understand people having issues with nero and moving on, but I would also like to know what percentage of those people who move on may have actually got it to work if they stuck at it

I'm pretty sure all the 'no' vote's cannot be blamed on nero

like I said I'm just glad I've got the freedom of choice

  17. YES, works very well for me. Made by a great company (like TMPGEnc) Ahead is not afraid to let you have many demos and upgrades. They don't assume that there is no room for advancement with their software and always try to improve their product. Nero is alive and well. ............ harrymj3

Nero 5.5.10.28 has worked flawlessly for me. The only coasters I've burned have been my error, not Nero's.

I tried RecordNow Max, but I did not like the interface, and since Nero works, I haven't bothered to work with RNM.

CopyToDVD works fine when I use it with DVD+RW, but I tried it with 3 different top quality DVD+R discs and got coasters.

It used to be a pain of all sorts (with the SONY DRU-500A). But since I upgraded the SONY f/w to the latest version and Nero finaly sorted out their mess with the latest 5.5.10.42 version, all things now work out fine.

Except that Nero decided lately when ejecting the disk after a verify, to do it in such a way that the drive still "thinks" the door is closed. Unless I eject the tray (which actually is already ejected) from within Nero or Explorer, the drive eject control is dead.

Strange, but I've had worse than that. At least I record at 4X with all branded DVD-R and DVD+Rs.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
