This was my first try at burning a dvd.. I selected TombRaider out of our collection to test..
I kept everything including the menus(I left the french audio off it to save room). I used dvd decrypter to select everything off the DVD, I then loaded up clonedvd. The DVD was about 7+ GB at this time, It showed the line at 47% during the clonedvd setup. I let it chug away and after it was done burning (dvdrw) I tested it, Quality was pretty grainy, plus when I zoomed in on it, It was really blocky..
What did I do wrong or is this the way its supposed to be? (I found it slightly better then svcd quality) I could spread it over 2 cds, but that would defeat the purpose of wanting it on one cd (thats why I dont like svcds).
Does anyone suggest any different software or does it happen like this when you try to compress the larger movies? Does any software make a better job of the compression?
Thanks!!

I use DVDShrink only and usually don't go over 30%. That gives me quite acceptable quality. In Shrink you can also compress menus and extras to 'still pictures' quality to give the main movie better compression ratio.
In some cases I ditch menues and extras all together to get the best movie quality.
Try DVDShrink. -
I use DVD2ONE all time. Try that one.

What you did wrong was you did a 1:1 copy keeping all extras using a transcoding tool. Try main movie only and you'll be a happy camper.

Is there anyway to keep just the menu with the copy or would it need to be spread out over 2 cds?
I dont care about the extras too much..
Is this only with larger movies like this or all of them?
Thanks!!
