I have burned backups of concert dvd's with nero recode and dvdshrink using nero express on kyphermedia dvd+rw media and picture and sound quality is good, but when i playback on my yamakawa 218 stand alone dvd player i get skips and pauses. also when i play the disk on my computer i get read errors with power dvd but it plays fine on WMP.
Could it be the cheap rw media or do Ineed to tweak the settings in nero. trying to get this right on dvd+rw media and not make any dvd+r coasters. any advice will be appreciated.

It certainly could be the media. Or it could just be that your player doesn't like +RW media, although that would hardly account for the errors in PowerDVD, huh?

I'd try ... well, make sure you burn slowly on a +RW, most of 'em are only rated for 1x or 2.4x. And it COULD be cheap +RW media.

Whenever someone wants to determine if it's media, I say go out to your local computer place (Best Buy, CompUSA, whatever) and get a couple discs - a Verbatim or Memorex +RW and a couple +R's. Drop the 10 bucks, and see if good media helps. Then go buy some bulk Riteks if it does. And if not? Then you know it's the drive or the software.
