  1. what is the best way to import mpeg 1 files to dvd sp?

I tried bbdemux, that gives an elementary .mpg and .mpa files. However, the .mpa won't import. Sometimes I can import to itunes, and have it save as a .mp3 that will import to dvdsp. The manual for dvdsp says that the quicktime encoder can demux to elemntary streams, but I don't get that option in the quicktime pulldowns. It becomes fairly tedious.

What's the most effective way to do this?

you could just trey renaming the mpa to mp2... however most MPEG1 streams are 44.1kHz and DVDSP requires 48kHz. the best workaround is to either use MPEGPowerTool and re-encode the .mp2 or to import into iTunes and convert to a .aif that is 48k.

    DVDSP will take either.

the best way i found for this was demux, with ffmpegx or someother demuxer, take the audio and convert it to 48, aiff, then ac3 it, to save space. just remember that you can't preview mpeg1 in dsp, it just shows black and you only hear audio, this is inside the ap itself. i also think dvd player does this or it doesn't play it at all, can't remember its been awhile.

but if you in dsp2, i have heard it doesn't take 352x240 mpeg1 streams, it'll take 720x480 mpeg1 streams though, but again this is just what i heard. not sure which version you're in.
pants on, pants off, pants the floor.
