Hi
I`m getting inner rings on DVD-R`s using DVD Decrypter and nero 6, would anyone know why this is and how to stop this ring from appearing on the backedup DVDs that i have. I use DVD Shrink v3 beta 5 to shink the data to fit on a DVD-R. The ring is about 3mm out from the inner data edge and is stopping all backedup copies at the moment apart from playing on the pionner 106. Is there a DVD Decrypter setting that would remove this ring. This is happening to all my DVDs i`m trying to backup.
Thanks

I have seen it also on a few discs and it's there before you burn if you have a look in a bright light and tilt the disc
it also seems to be more visible after burning the disc as after burning the disc looks lighter so there will be more contrast
I've never noticed any playback issues with them though so never worried about it -
I think you may be talking about something else actually
is the ring a fraction of a millimetre thick because that ring is supposed to be there. There is an inner section of the disc that is written on that contains whatever it does (lead in, lead out?)
the movie etc is on the outer part starts beyond that ring
look at a blank and you will see the ring is already there
I may be wrong about which files are written where but I do know you shouldn't worry about the ring
are the playback issues in your standalone?. Try using another burning software as nero may be causing the problem for one reason or another
Try RNM and see if you get the same results, the link is in the tools on the left
