  1. I am attempting to watch a movie, but get no video. I downloaded avicodec and it tells me the video is divx5 but no audio. I have the latest divx5.1 installed and k-lite codec pack. Is there another codec that would resemble a divx, that I may not have?

Details: avi file, 17kbps, 25 fps, 352x288 I have tried viewing in winDVD, divx player, and media player.

    Any ideas?

  2. I hope this isn't a pirated video file, but giving you the benefit of the doubt i'll say it's not and you could try the MP43 codec.

I've read lots of recommendations that advise to stay away from codec "packs". They can do more harm than good.

Best to delete all packs and re-install separate codecs as and when you need them.
    There's no place like 127.0.0.1
The Rogue Pixel: Pixels are like elephants. Every once in a while one of them will go nuts.

  4. I had loads of troubles after formatting my hard drive but installed the GordianKnot codec pack which fixed all my problems, with everything playing fine in Windows Media Player. I know codec packs can cause problems but if it doesn't fix your troubles you can always get rid of it. Hope this helps.

When I want to steal something I expect it to be a challenge
and I don't expect any help because I don't want anyone
knowing what I am up to. Besides it's no fun If you don't do
    it yourself.
