Hi, i have a mpeg 2 file og 3 gb and i want to watch it on my dvd but i can not convert it to vcd or svcd obviously, what can i do? do i have to encode it?, please help.

I guess you don't have a DVD burner ?
You could cut it up and put it on several SVCDs -
Then why not just make it into a DVD instead of a VCD or SVCD? You'll even get better compatibility with other players as a bonus. A DVD can hold over 4gigs, you could even put another short film on the same disk. Its a Win-Win cenario. And everyone likes those
