m2v is the video portion of an mpeg file - the audio would be mp2, ac3 or pcm.

  3. Multiplex them (TMPGEnc) with one of those file types housepig wrote and you'll have a mpg file.

import them into an authoring program and use them as the video portion.

author the files, you should be able to view them in any software dvd player.

or you can open them in TMPG, save them as a mpg file, and open them in a media player afterwards.

  7. Try with windows media player 9, or powerdvd. Remember it ´ll be just video and no audio, cause the file is just video.

If you want to view them in Windows MP, I believe you'll need the MPEG2 codec located in the tools section. As for PowerDVD, I can play .m2v files with it. What version of PowerDVD are you using?
