I really need help, have gone through numerous blank dvds to no avail. I have followed the patches to do with SVCD to DVD and the panasonic drives and the pan and scan fix but cannot still get it working.

Can you please help me step by step what i should do to get it full screen. It is really frustrating that i cannot get it working..

What software should i use to burn it? What are the steps/settings involved in getting it right the first time?

Thanks for your help and Happy New Year

    Cheers

    Chris

SVCD and VCD most of the time are 352x240 (NTSC) or 352x288 (PAL) [VCD] and 480x480 (NTSC) or 480x576 (PAL). DVD needs 720x480 (NTSC) or 720x576 (PAL) so in order to make the dvd-player SVCD and VCD as DVD on A DVD-SVCD or DVD-VCD SVCD2DVD tries to trick the player by setting a bit in the vob so it says the video is 720x480 or 720x576. Some players accept that and other players don't. Toshiba is one of the players that doesn't accept the trick so you get deformed (dubble vision or a big black block on the rightside) video.

So what is the fix then? I am using SVCD2DVD.

  6. You realy want to know?

    * You can try to use the pan scan option in the program
    * You can only use mpgs that are 720x480 or 720x576 but this are no normal values VCD or SVCD so that might give some problems
    * You can try to see if dvd-lab will not give you this problem. But remember this program is expensive and not so easy to use and it might even be impossible for some VCD
    * Last would be to buy a dvd-player with accepts the header trick.
