Hi,
I'm going to produce my very first DVD+R discs with video clips.
I'm just not sure what clips I have to re-encode due to different values in bitrates, audio frequency etc.
I have few clips which have a video bitrate 15000kbps, I suppose that I have to re-encode these down to 9000kbps or something like that?
It's mentioned here that video+audio+subs cannot exceed 9.8MBps:
http://dvd-hq.info/Compression.html
Is this strict max value because I also have clips that have 9800kbps bitrate for video? Do I even have to re-encode these as well?
And what about audio ... what values I should use there? Apparently the frequency has to be 48khz but can I use any bitrates up to 448kbps?
Yet another one: If my standalone DVD player doesn't play any SVCDs which have a total bitrate over 2720kbps, is it possible that these files (for example 3000kbps) does work as DVD-SVCD?
Thanks in advance!

well, 9.8mbps is actually 10035kbps, so if your video is 9800kbps and your audio is 192kbps you have 9992kbps, should work. (think i've got this right!)
yes, 15000kbps will need to be re-encoded. 9500kbps will do fine.
yes, AC3 up to 448kbps is fine.
DVD-SVCD is pureply player depndant. If you player will play DVD-SVCD then it should be able to play up to the DVD standard 9.8 for video bitrates. more prudent would be to re-encode the SVCD to half D1 (352X480(576)) for garunteed compatibility.
