Importing AVI (Created with Dig Still Cam) into Premier

At first would not import at all. Gave error like unrecognized format. Then loaded Pinacle DV500 on top of Premier. Imports AVIs but only the Audio. I have done it on another machine that had Premier and Pinacle installed, but also had some other encoders installed. Can't remember what they where. Any ideas on what I can intall ontop of Premier (Additional CODECs?) to get the Program to recognize the Digital Still Camera created AVIs.

Are you sure they are AVi's? What does the camera recoed them onto. I thought those digital still cameras did mpeg4 files or even mpeg1. Im sure its a codec issue though. I have a DV500 as well and the only files that Premiere likes is AVI's. Not divx avi's which I think is a form of mpeg4 compression.
