  1. Hi guys,

my LG4020B is driving me nuts. I purchased it 3 weeks ago. It came with a DVD-RAM which I used a few times to backup stuff. But then, all of a sudden, the DVD was no longer recognized as DVD-RAM but as DVD-ROM. Of course, I could no longer write to the disc. I then purchsed some Panasonic DVD-RAMs and everything worked for the last 3 weeks pretty well. But today I have the same f**cking problem again. One of the Panasonic DVD-RAMs is recognized as DVD-ROM. I can't even format the disc using DVDForm. The others are still recognized as DVD-RAMs. The disc has no visible scratches and I treated it very, very carefully (given my first experiences). Could anyone please explain why that happens? Or how I can overcome it?

    Cheers,
    Marcus

I have a 4020b but have not had any RAM problems. What method are you using to format them?

Do you know anyone who can try them on their drive?

  3. I used the included DVDForm program that came with the driver software. It doesn't matter what disc format I choose. FAT32, UDF 1.5, UDF 2.0 - it just doesn't work.
Unfortunately, I don't know any other person who has a DVD-RAM recorder at this time.
