  1. I'm very new to these programs and have tried to follow numerous guides as well as searching this site and doom9 ect...

My mind is now swimming with programs, extensions ways of encodeing and the answers I need are probably obvous but I'm just too bloody frusterated to see them.

I have been having huge problems with avisynth script. (nothing is working.)

I even tried http://www.avisynth.org/index.php?page=YourFirstScript As you may notice it is entitled your first script and it does not even work for me.

Searching this forum I found a simple? test

When I typed "version" in notepad (as suggested in this thread https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=649775&highlight=avisynth#649775 ) nothing came up for me in virtualdub.

I did save it as an .avs file and I did change the .txt to *.*. I even saved it as tweedledee just incase (The problems I have had lately have told me that nothing is impossible and just do it EXACTLY as described or it will NOT work. )

    I am using virtualdub 1.5.4.

If anybody has any thoughts about getting it to work so I can resize some video, use cce and burn it I would appreciate it.

    -Thanks.

Did you install avisynth.dll in your system32 folder, and did you install it in the registry?
    Hello.

  3. Thanks for the reply- I'm currently rebuilding an engine so I only have time to check back periodically.

When I downloaded avisynth2.52 it installed aivsynth.dll when I unpacked it. I think it must do the registry as well because the only thing in the file avisynth2.52 are webpages, examples and the user agreement (licence.)
