    Reading and writing cds is no problem. I have Nero 6,Windvd installed and reinstalled. I was able to read a dvd for awhile but the transfer from it was very low. Then the next day it was working fine. 12 hours later
    nothing. DvdDecrypter detects no medium. I have searched for days but found no help. Do you think it is the drive. Thanks from the Krawfish.

    Either a firmware upgrade might be needed or your motherboard is having issues detecting it as a DVD drive. Had a Dell machine that did the same thing once.

    I was able to read dvds twice not anymore. Dvdinfo and Nero do not detect any medium. I tried a firmware update, the latest that I thought would be compatible. Did not help
