when replacing disk 1 with disk 2, explorer still "thinks" disk 1 is in the drive and no amount of refreshing helps - the only thing that helps is a restart - anyone know what's going on?

i find if i open my computer, right click the afflicted drive and press eject (as opposed to pressing the physical button on the front of the drive) and then put in your next disc, it's far more likely to work out what's going on.
