Ok, my current drive just isnt working for me, and i was looking for a drive that could do all the formats, and ive pretty much gotten it down to 2 difves. The Poineer A06 drive and the new Sony DRU-530A Drive. THey both seem to be around the same price. And i was wondering what you guys thought about these drives. I want a drive that can burn the formats without a problem, and let me backup dvd's with out any problems.

If you guys suggest other drives, then plz tell me> My current drive is a HP DVD+RW 200i and its been having a lot of trouble lately with reading DVD's using DVDshrink, and its startign to get annoying.

  2. You might wait for the new Lite-on 811s it will probably be out in a couple of weeks and they are usually reasonably priced. Lite-on is good at improving the performance of their drives with firmware updates.

  3. The Plextor PX-708A can write DVD+R at 8x,DVD+RW & DVD-R at 4x and costs <$250USD.

those sound pretty good as far as specs go, and i like that firmare option, since the current drive i have now, its a nightmare to find firmware updates, so ill have to check out prices and see which one i like better.
