  1. i recently started ripping dvds. i have a copy of the ninja turtles that i'm making at the momment i ripped the files with smart ripped and am trying to encode the vob files with the cinemacraft plugin for flaskmpeg but whenever i try to encode it anything that moves in the video has like scan lines through it. I initially thought this was a bitrate problem but i've tried encoding in cbr and 1-pass vbr with the same results. right now i'm encoding in 2-pass vbr but to i'm not optimistic. please help me.

  2. This sounds like an interlacving issue. Your PC display is not interlaced, your TV is, sounds like your source material is too (mnay/most film DVD's are not). There are two possibilities that spring to mind. The first is that everything is fine and it will look great when played on your TV. The second is that you have the field order revered. I am not familiar with your choice of SW but there should be a setting somewhere for Top field first, or A first or something like that. If it doesn't play well on your TV, try reversing it.

    Hope this helps.

  3. ridah22,
all the dvdrips that i've done so far play also with the interlace look on the pc, refer to bugster statement as to why.
now, when i use media player to view i get the lines, not sure if you have yet, but try windvd or powerdvd, i use windvd and the lines go away, and all my files play great.
not that it matters but i use the 2 pass vbr and i've got good results from it

    later on,
    warning
