It's sad that it happens often enough that someone would make a poll about it.

    Sniff.

Must have happened while I was asleep. Didn't miss a thing on my end

You know.... there is a way to fix it.... but we must DONATE to the cause. It is nothing that money can not fix! And if you are wondering, yes I will be donating, in a unique way of course. Just be patient, you'll see. Maybe that upgrade to windows 2003 isn't so far away.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

First I check Doom 9 for traitor activity :cD

    Then I hit Refresh immediately.

After a while I decide I might as well get some work done.

    (But I keep checking!) :c)

I record and encode to DVD format all the commercials I have cut out of all the shows I have ever captured, and burn them to dvd's with menus.

What do I do when this site is down? Go back to downloading 'stuff' off newsgroups, particularly alt.binaries.multimedia (.cartoon, .utilities, .thedogandponyshow, etc), alt.binaries.sounds.mp3, and heck, anything on alt.binaries that looks 'interesting'...

  20. It takes me so long to type those long messages I post I skip right over all the down time, did I miss my coffee break AGAIN?

Or if I notice it's down, I tkae that time to try and learn to type and spell in my native language, US english!

Or I just sit here pounding the keyboard screaming, not again, not again!

Although I must say I have not noticed all that much downtime myself, a few long periods here or there, but not all that often. Must acure the rare times I leave to do other less important things, like SLEEP or eat.

Now when the Blaster was hitting bad, I almost died from DVDRHELP withdrawls!
Don't know if it effected the site, but my ISP was about down, and I could not get to the site (or anywhere else) at all for along while! Now that was bad!
I did not get the virus, but about 75%-90% of the ISP users had it!
Typical point and click users, all they know is turn it on and click! No firewalls, no anti virus, no windows patches! aaaawwwww!

If all else fails I sit here for hours staring at my mailbox reading 50 or so headers,

My fault. I was doing some server testing but forgot to change back to stable settings before I went to sleep.

    One of 3 things:
    1. Do more work on lordsmurf.com
    2. Actually WATCH some of the DVD's I make!
    3. Or waste time doing something else.

And I don't really know why, but I never find the info at Doom9 to be very useful. That site seems more content on low-end video formats, archaic software and DVD copying. DVDrhelp.com has more do-it-yourself'ers using analog source.
