    Trying to figure our what drive this is...

    It only appears as a GENERIC 4x writer with a firmware number of 2.15...

    Anyone got a clue?

    I was wondering about that also, i never really looked it over before installing it but it says Generic for mine also...... it came with a paper that said to download a new driver at the I/O website, which i did but it still says the same thing but i have yet to have any problems, with either + or - media.......

    It is more than likely an Optorite DD0203. Mine says the same thing and it has a sticker on the drive that says Model: DD0203.
