  1. I ahve a capture card and DVD burner and software. What I would like to do now is time-capture digitally, video from my DirecTV when I am away from home. Does anyone know of a free application that will allow me to do so? Thanks. Dale

If you can afford a DVD Burner then you can afford to shell out a few more dollars for a decent Personal Video Station (PVS)setup. Thats of course if your capture card is supported. Or do you mean TV Tuner Card? If you want a scheduling program (Electronic Program Guide) and the ability to convert to DVD, I would suggest the WIN PVR 250 and Snapstream. The two will set you back about $179.00 if you buy the two together. No its not free, but it works and is better than a TIVO with all its features. Remote access from your work, streaming over a network, and re-compression for viewing on a Pocket PCor to any type of file you want.

Virtual VCR has support for scheduled recording, and is freeware.
