  1. Greetings,

I tried to back-up my copy of stitch the movie without success. Several programs had trouble handling this dvd including dvdshrink, clonedvd, and dvdxcopyexpress.

Anyone else have similar problems. Any ideas on how to remedy the problem?

  2. The disc is DVD9 but the total file size is less than 4.3GB. I would just back it up as if it was a DVD5 disc with DVD Decrypter:

    1. Choose "Mode | Iso - read" and rip image file
    2. Choose "Mode | Iso - write" and burn image file

  3. Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately dvd decrypter was tripped up by the disk as well. Any other thoughts?

  4. I tried to back this up as well with only one success. If I use dvdxcopy express to just get the movie it would work fine. Otherwise it would not play back correctly. If someone does get a good working backup with everything in tact please let me know because I would love to know how it was done.

Am I the only one who just slapped in the disc, and told Nero to copy it?

I admit that RecordNow got confused and said it wouldn't fit on the DVD-R. But Nero 6 had no such problems.

P.S. AnyDVD is very helpful in this situation.

  8. Try ripping the ENTIRE disc in filemode. Then run DVDShrink on it with zero compression for everything, and burn that output (could also use IFOEdit to remove and layer swtich flags).

People have backed this disc up.

Hell, Gurm, you're the only one I've seen, so far, who admits to using Nero 6.

Have you gotten the upgraded version, .1, or maybe by now .2?

I don't have this DVD but if it really is a dual layer disc with a total size of 4.3GB or less then this should work:

1.) RIP with DVD DECRYPTER using FILE MODE and select ALL files
2.) Use ImgTool (classic version) to create an ISO IMAGE file
3.) Burn the ISO IMAGE file with DVD DECRYPTER

    Should work

    Gmatov,

I'm on the current version (6.0.0.15), and it works just fine. I have never used Nero for anything other than data or image burning, and for those it works just fine. It also makes fine duplicates when AnyDVD is running in the background.

People who dislike it try to use it for other things.

Did you use the Beta 5 version of DVD shrink?

More than likely, you have a scratched or damaged disk. You should be able to back it up easily with DVDShrink using Movie only and no compression.

Just out of curiosity, but why on earth would you use DVD Shrink on a movie that's smaller than a DVD-R?

For myself I generally do not use it on a DVD5 but the original post said he had tried DVD shrink, with others, and had no success, since I had bought the movie for my son I thought I would try backing it up using DVD shrink, and possibly duplicate the problem.

  16. Here's the summary verison Grum. The it's a DVD9 disc, but only 4.1GB total file size. So you can fit everything on a single DVDR. Myself and others have just ripped an iso file w/ DVD Decrypter then burned the image. But that's not working for the original poster. It was suggest that maybe this is because of the layer break commands in the IFO. So why not rip in file mode, run it through DVD Shrink (no compression) to remove them (or use IFOEdit).

But given that myself and several others have had no problem backing up this movie I suspect that there might be something wrong with either his setup or his DVD source.
