  1. I've converted an AVI-file to MPG with TMPGEnc where the audio of the source file was fine and the the destination MPG was fine too when I played it on my computer. However when I play on my DVD-player (Pioneer 636D) the audio is noticably worse. Loud parts are distorted almost like the bitrate is too low but it isn't. Any idea what might cause this and how to fix it?

  2. this is due to the sound encoder not being so good. but the worst part is that there seems to be a lack of a frequency resampler in tmpgenc, I use external plugins.ie if the source is not 44.1khz it can sound really bad.

    frequency resampler - scmpx

sound encoding - toolame or scmpx

This does help. I ususally just use scmpx in the "Sampling frequency convertor" under "evironmental tools" on the "external tool" tab in tmpgenc.

Here is the link to get SCMPX.
