I want use this feature but it isn't doing what I hoped.
it extracts the mpgs (and other files) from a bin image.
It then proceeds to build a dvd with only the first mpg.

the vcds were built with toast or vcd builder with toast.
there are up to 30 mpgs on the vcds.

Major if you read this, here is a feature that I would like:
Extract the mpgs, join them, demux, resample the audio,
and be left with a 1 hour m1v file and mp2 files. (for use in dvdsp)
ffmpegX does all this, but it can be a long process with 30 files.

    Any thoughts from anyone?

  2. Not sure if I fully understood.
If not, then this will help someone else

You wish ffmepgX to work on more than one mpeg file ? As a source file in the "tools" tab, just choose a folder that has all mpegs inside (instead of one single file), ffmepgX will handle all the content.

I don't know (never tried) if you can put .bin (or .toast) images in that folder. If that's not possible, you'll first have to extract the mpeg files "manually" :
    - make a toast image with your VCD
    - rename it .bin instead of .toast
    - extract the mpeg with vcdtoolsX
    - you get a nice mpg file

Was that the answer you expected ?

  3. You can indeed process many mpg files by putting them in a folder, or many bin files each containing one mpg, or mix many mpg and many bin each containing one mpg, but you're right - you can't process a bin containing many mpg. I'll probably add support for this later. For now, proceed as suggested by Pix.

    pix,
I started with the .bin which I got using toast and re-naming.
Then used the .bin as my imput file in ffmpegX.
According to what I read in the changelog you can use .bin
ffmpegX rips the mpegs (more than 1) and then resamples the audio
    and builds the DVD folders.
But what happens is only the first mpg gets processed.

Okay, working on a folder full of mpgs gives the expected results.
    Just tried it.

I still would like to get my hands on the m1v file and mp2 file without
    demuxing the VOB.

have I been more clear or just confusing?
    thanks for the help.
