    Hi.
I am turning to members of this site because they have always been helpful in my dvd/vcd inquiries. I am thinking about picking up a laserdisc(used is fine) player. My problem is I don't know where to get one. I've asked at the Wiz and BestBuy but nobody seems to have an idea.
If anyone knows of a store or website that still sells these units I would appreciate any feedback.
    Thanks.

  2. As a Laser Disc Owner since 1988 let me give my 2 cents worth here.
Stay away from anything except a Pioneer laser Disc.
Sony's are crap, Always replacing the drawer belt.
Try to get a side changer, less time getting up and flipping disc.
Try to get one with digital effects chip built in.
So you will have a smooth picture with FF/RW and slow mo on CLV Discs.
Best out there is the 700 series by Pioneer.
Pioneer has a great Support for Laser Disc, and sell parts still.
I have a D704 its been great since I bought it new in 1994.
My pioneer also plays any CD-R I have put in it even the 99min. ones. No CD-RW though.
No Laser disc, unless its from Asia will play VCD though.

  3. If you want cheaper there is always eBay

still they can run you 50-100 bucks for a pretty well used player. I would try a place that sells refurbished electronics(a local electronic shop around where I live) Or see if any repairshop around you can fix them (just in case)

Otherwise go with the big bucks for brand spanking new.

Thanks for all the help guys.

I had just been given a couple of laserdiscs and was looking to find a player at a low price just to check them out(I've never watched laserdisc).
I was looking at ebay for a used one but chances are they might not be working units when I receive them.
