  2. It could be that you've inadvertantly checked the wrong audio format i.e MPEG audio instead of Dolby digital.

    I've done that before and had the same result as you

  3. choose another audio track

    once you get the .wav file, play it in mplayer to make sure it's the one you want

    When dvd2avi is working it says Mpeg audio in the format box, how do i change this, i cant find where to change it.

    Under output method i have selected decode to wav, under dolby digital decode there is nothing checked, should i use dolby surround down mix?
    I havnt used that option before and havnt had a problem.

    I have ripped this dvd before with track 1 selected but i screwed it up when i converted to svcd, i went back to do it again in vcd but tmpgenc wouldnt load the .d2v file, thats the reason im trying to rip it again

  6. Under the 'Audio' tab you have 'Channel Format'. Now ,I'm assuming , that your source DVD is in dolby digital therfore you want to check that option. Then next to the 'Dolby digital' tab select 'decode' and that will give you a .wav file.

    If your source audio IS mpeg then you need to demux as opposed to decode, this will give you a mp2 file not a .wav

    Hope this is clear

  10. so, you set output method to "decode to .wav"???

    and under dolby digital decode, you set to "dolby surround downmix"???

    -----

    what you can do to find audio tracks is this:

    load the vob files into DVD2AVI...then select audio track 1...press f5. then info box will appear...if you look in the audio info section of that info box, you should see something like DD and certain bitrate (kbit/s). if not, select another audio track and try again, until you find one that does have DD.

  11. I have tried with and without the downmix option checked and there is no difference, i also tried changing the audio track, on track one it comes up as mpeg audio on the rest of them there is nothing written there, there is also no where in the sound section of the info box to display bitrate, there is only audio type and time stamp.

    This is very odd since i have done a few dvds with this lately and have not had a problem, i even did this particualr dvd once before with no problems!

    I thik its time to try another program.

    I didnt bother trying the demux option because the first time i ripped this cd i didnt use it but i still got a .wav file, i dont know how i got one then but i did, i tried it on demux and now it puts out the file like it should.

    Thanks for everyones help.

  14. If you run an mpeg thru DVD2AVI and the audio is in MPEG format, like you said it was displayed, then you have to demux the audio, just one of them things.
    Ejoc's CVD Page:
    DVDDecrypter -> DVD2AVI -> Vobsub -> AVISynth -> TMPGEnc -> VCDEasy

    DVD:
    DVDShrink -> RecordNow DX

    Capture:
    VirualDub -> AVISynth -> QuEnc -> ffmpeggui -> TMPGEnc DVD Author

  15. I had the same problem try another track. I tried track two on the vobs and that took care of the problem of not creating the wav file.

    Ejoc hit it on the head.
    If the WAV file isn't produced then change the Output Method to "Demux" instead of Decode to WAV.
    This will then create an mpeg audio file.

    The easiest way to see if you are NOT getting a wav file is the Audio details in the Information window will be empty when the process is started.
    This means you need to change the Output Method and start again.
