hi,
any ideas on the quality of compression levels when using dvdshrink.
i've heard people say not to go below a level 3. the reason i ask is because most of my dvds that i converted are over 4.7gb and movie only with no menu's. i've only done a few dvd's that were above 4.7gb, with menus and some extras.
thanks

Acceptable will be pend on a great many factors. Quality of the source, your "perception" of good or acceptable, what you want to keep can all affect the final version.
If the quality of the source is low to begin with, even a small amount of compression can make it look like junk.
It might be that your TV doesn't show artifacting/macro blocking as bad as someone elses. You really never can tell until you experiment. I suggest investing in a couple DVDRWs and a player that can read them.
