I have Panasonic E-80 DVD recorder and plan to transfer all my old VHS tapes (football games) into DVDs but would like to hear your inputs on video correctors. The quality from some tapes are fairly ok such as picture shake, snowy picture and some pictures not as crisp so I'm wondering if any of those products can improve the quality when transferring into DVD? Your feedback would be helpful as I'm not sure which one I should get.
Thanks!!

I have the Simma SCC and it certainly doesn't do anything for picture shake. As a matter of fact it seems to cause shake on some videos. I'm really not thrilled with it but it has allowed me to tape some tapes that I couldn't before.
It won't help let me back up Star Trek Insurrection for instance. It's a fairly new tape and plays perfectly in my VCR. If I try to copy it into the computer without the Simma SCC I get the message "ati has detected macrovision and recording will be terminated". When I hook up the Simma SCC I no longer get that message but the picture on the computer now shakes and drops frames. The Simma SCC boasts that it handles the latest forms of macrovision so I am pretty dissapointed.
