  1. hello

Just wondering why is it, that when I author some dvds using dvd maestro and test them on power DVD, it'll play for a second then freeze for a second, then continue to play fine for the rest of the movie. Then when I burn them on to dvdr, and play them on my standalone. They are fine, and play without any problems?(though tested in other standalones; lesser priced ones and they play it with the same problem as power dvd)

    and is there a cure?

  3. I've had similar problems with Maestro. Did you ever get a buffer overrun error for a high bitrate?

  4. Buffer overun?
maybe at one time in the very early days of me using it, as a result of a learning process.I can't remember.

Did you ever overcome this problem I am having though?

  5. Well, when I encoded my video for Maestro, I just had a bitrate higher than the DVD norm. (This is especially common in audio). That was one problem that was similar.
Another more widespread problem is one I haven't been able to fix. In dealing with several different machines and programs, my DVDs would go somewhat out of sync. But, when I pushed pause and then kept going, everything pulled back together. I hope this helps.

  6. Did you ever figure out a solution for this problem?
I am experiencing the same issue.

    Encoded with TMPG
    Authored with Maestro
    Burned with Nero

Video freezes briefly here and there, mainly at the begining, and only after still photos.

This also only occurs when playing with Power DVD

    Any ideas?

  7. Actually I did.. I found that encoding in VBR solved my problem.Always choosing about 1000kbps down (or lower)from the max bitrate as lowest bitrate.

  8. Yes...I've tried the same thing and it worked also. Good to know that it worked for you also.

    Thanks for the reply!
