  1. Hi,

My Pioneer 105 seems to work great. I capture from VHS and burn to DVD-R and so far all play fine on PC using WinDVD.
When I play on my standalone DVD I get video pausing for a couple of seconds and picture distorted intermittantly - lines of squares. I have other DVD-R's made by other people which play fine.

I use TMPEnc DVD Author to create VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders and then use Nero UDF 1.02 to burn. I have used both TDK and DataWrite DVD-R's.

Suspect the media is no good but have just bought 50 so hopefully someone will offer some advice to get these discs to work properly.

    Thanx

  2. The problem has to be related to one of these:

    1. Authoring program

    2. Burning App.

    3. DVD-R media

For Burning app I would suggest RecordNow Max, for DVD-R media I would suggest anything made in Japan like Maxell 2x (read the package before buying) The Authoring app, I used Sonic MY DVD and it works ok not the best authoring app but it does the job. (feel free to use any other authoring app.)

  3. Thanks Simonco,

I figured out that it is the media I am using not being all that good. I burned a DVD I authored using TMPEGEnc DVD Author onto a DVD-RW disc using Nero, and this one played absolutely fine on my standalone DVD player.

DataWrite disc = no good for DVD Video.
