Hey guys. Got a question for ya. A while ago when I first started copying movies, I used the crappy 4x BMI's from TigerDirect.com. Now these are a good deal, but after more then half of them turned out to be crap since they wouldn't play on my standalone Panasonic player. So now I have like 20-25 movies that only can be played on my computer. So, I have now been using the media of the gods, also known as Ritek G04's, and I was hoping to just copy the copies I've already made without going through the process of compressing and extracting out all the movies I've made so far. My question, will copying the copy, copy over the playback problem, or is it safe to say that it was a media fluke? I tried copying a copy from a BMI to a Verbatim Datalife, and it still wouldn't play in my Panasonic. Thanks

I'm not sure since I have only ever used Ritek Media, but an easy way to check would be to rip the entire DVD in ISO mode with Decrypter. Then load that ISO into Daemon Tools and check it. If the problem isn't there then it shouldn't be when you burn on the Riteks. If the problem is then you'll have to do something else like going through IFOedit or something, just depends on your problem.

If your computer can play 'em, then MOST LIKELY you can just copy them over to good media. Let us know how it goes.

Thunder In Paradise, the problem might not be due to the media you used, but to the way you burned the backups in the first place.
What software did you use and in what mode?
(I know from experience that backups burned in UDF mode with Nero will not play on Panasonic players).

    Yes yes.

I meant that if the PC can play it, then pulling in the data and reburning correctly on good media will work.

Don't just make a copy of a bad copy.

    Sorry for the confusion.

    >>Good Point, I pretty much assumed that you burned them through a dependable process that had worked for you before.

Depending on what you used and how you burned them it is very possible that they will play on your Comp but not your stand alone.
