  1. I am still a little confused about the DVD+R vs. DVD-R battles, but I do know that my DVD player has read a DVD+R in the past. It went crazy once when i tried to read another DVD+R, but it worked atleast once. I mainly use a Sony Playstation2 to view DVD's, any advice?

Now, I am about to buy a burner, but am looking for the best choice, and for a good price. I thought that buying a burner that would burn onto DVD+R and DVD-R would be the best thing to do. Are their any burners that do this? If so which? I am looking at a few burners that just do DVD+R that I can get for around $100-$130. I am in the US BTW.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  2. Go for the dual-format burner. Several dual-format burners are avaiable for under $200.

Here is a sample from avlogic.com...

    The Pioneer DVR-106D at $159.00 at avlogic.com.
The NEC ND-1300A at $130.00 with no software and $141.00 with software,
    The Optorite DD-0203 at $179.00,
The Sony DW-U10A at $165.00 with no softare and $167.00 with software,

I recommend the Optorite (I own two of them) but the other three should be just as good. I've heard good things about the NEC and Pioneer, but I hven't heard much on the Sony, so it maybe a newer model...
