  1. hi, i've been trying to use the vcd header trick and everytime TMPEGenc finishes with the multiplexing, it gives and error. it was something like, "packet caused buffer underflow. the MPEG file might cause errors when played back." and when i played it on my DVD player, it has sum green blocky stuff at the top of the screen. any help would be appreciated. thanks ppl!

  2. hate to say it, but that might be normal as a result of the encoding that you did. What I mean by that is that it may be in the movie now.

I believe that you can also accomplish the header trick by burning your non vcd movie to SVCD (or vice versa) with nero, by selecting either SVCD or VCD and then turning off the non compliance option.

Try it on your software player and see if it shows up.

  3. The error in doing header trick in TMPGEnc sometimes comes if you put wrong format in Format option. Try to use "MPEG-1 VideoCD non standard" if you are trying "MPEG-1 VideoCD" or backwards.

  4. What antonv said.

Plus are you sure your DVD Player supports the Header Trick? My friend has a DVD Player that will play VCDs SVCDs and CVDs, but wont play ones w/ the header trick, where as mine does, make sure yours can play SVCDs w/ the header trick if that does not work.

Also test the MPEG-2 using WMP to make sure it is encoded correctly. WMP wont beable to play the one that has had the header trick preformed on it, it will produce a picture like to described.

  5. thanks for info ppl but that didn't help. my dvd player CAN play VCDs but not SVCDs. i tried putting the format as "Mpeg-1 VideoCD Non Standard" AND "Mpeg-1 VideoCD" they both didn't work. i tried 2 movies with the header trick. they both messed up in different ways. i tried Once Upon a Time in China 3 CD 1 by selecting "Mpeg-1 VideoCD" and it was playing ok until about 5 minutes into the movie, it froze. i tried using Matrix Reloaded CD 1 with "Mpeg-1 VideoCD" and throughout the entire movie, it had the green blocky stuff at the top. i tried doing Matrix Reloaded CD 1 with "Mpeg-1 VideoCD Non Standard" and it didn't have sound and played VERY VERY slowly.

    anyone else have any suggestions??

Unfortunately, you are trying to find a fix for a movie (matrix reloaded) that has not been released. This is a SERIOUS voilation of this site's rules. This post has been reported and will more than likely be locked.
