Back again , I converted AVI into mpeg-2 in TMPGEnc and when I go do the authoring in TMPGnc DVD author in will not let me ( illegal file )
checked the file in properties it said MCF file ?!?!?!........
Am I doing something wrong at the first stage ie converting AVI - Mpeg-2 ?
or is it me .......
somebody please help.............................................. .......................

Sorry, I don't use Tempenc author.
Do you have any other prog to try? One of the trialware that's available maybe?There's no place like 127.0.0.1

thanks for your promt response , can you reccomend an author .
the file is an MCF file so maybe it was converted to the wrong format from AVI in the first place ......... getting real confused here..... -
Yeah, I don't know about the MCF bit at all?
IF you want to try a really easy way - just to get your head around it all - I learned on Ulead VideoStudio 7. They have a free trial.
You can either:
1.) try to put in the file Tempgenc produced, or
2.) start over and put the avi into VS7
Then you can go all the way through to making a DVD. It has basic authoring using menu templates, but you can jazz them up a bit if you want.
Get yourself a RW disc, and give it a try. After you've made your first DVD, you can then try out other progs and ways of doing it.There's no place like 127.0.0.1
