Hi,

First off let me say this is a very nice and informative forum.
Well, i'm looking in to purchasing a stand-alone DVD plyr with all capabilities(VCD, CdrW, etc) and ways in to make it region-free.
Any suggestions on brand and model would be appreciated.

I just bought a Panasonic RV31r-u

It plays DVD-CD-CDR-CDRW VideoCD SuperVCD and MP3s

I don't know about a region free hack....

you can also check the dvd player list link over on the left. it gives compatibility as well as a generalized price range, plus it shows if there is a regionhack for the player.

I know my philips dvd711 does everything, and if I could just find an all for one remote with the magic key, I'd be really happy, because I could make my player region free. LOL.
