  1. After i create an ISO file from the DVD, say for example using IMGTools, what program would i use to shrink the file afterwards to put it one DVD-R. DVD shrink does not allow the ISO file to open. IMGtools does not open a shrunk DVD file. Please help.

You can go to DVDDEcryptor and select ISO-->Write.

  3. Will this automatically shrink the files to fit on a single DVD-r?????

  4. You need to mount this file onto a virtual drive using Daemon Tools and then run the shrink process off that virtual drive, onto your hard drive, and then deal with the "shrunk" files accordingly, ie burn them onto a DVD-R directly, or create a disc image using IMGTools and then burn that using DVD Decrypter.

You're sort of complicating the process by ripping the files and then creating an image - what I would do is create an image to start with using ISO mode in DVD Decrypter. Then go about mounting it and follow the other suggestions I made.

    here is what i do.

use dvd decrypter in file mode.
    select all files.

then start dvd20ne it will compress the files into either full disk or movie only (you choose) and then burn the resulting filesto dvd-r with nero.

  6. I'm just wondering. You do realize that DVDshrink can read the disk with no need to make an image, right?

  7. Question. I just used DVD Shrink for the first time last night. All I can say is that was fun .

However, I noticed that when you use the shrink function (to get it all down to ~4.6 GB) of course the visual appearance is not as good as the original.

I was wondering, say if I did a "No Compression" option which of course leaves it somewhere around 7GB+, would it be possible to do no compression, store it onto TWO dvds, and still be able to watch it? I guess it would be most optomistic if say, the movie was half way in the middle and then said "insert disc two to continue". Can or has that been done?

    Thanks.

  10. Thanks for the replies guys. Actually as a total newb with DVD Shrink, I just realized something else now when I was playing with it.

What could be done is use the "Start/End" feature, I believe. It seems as though that will allow you to simply only capture the chapters of the disk you want, therefore if you only want a few chapters then you could rip them at 100% (no compression). However, would the ensuing DVD still start up as an independent DVD since you would have left out things like the Menus and/or start files? Or would the few chapters pretty much be dead in water since there wasn't any startup files (menus) that went with it? Hmmm.

    Thanks again.
