  1. when i go to decode xvid films so that they will work on my dvd player after the decoding starts i lose the sound after the firs few second of the film. i use TMPGEnc and i have tried virtual dub also but allways the same only sound at the start of movie i am new to it anyone can help me please many thanks and sorry if there are any spelling mistakes Dorian

    Your xvid file promably uses mp3 audio and TMPEG does not like mp3 audio. Open your file in VirtualDub,then select save as wave from the file menu. Open your avi in the video input line in TMPEG,then open the wave you created with VirtualDub in the audio input line in TMPEG.
