upside down

AND PLEASE DO NOT TAKE MY HEAD OFF yes i did search on forum
but i am old and female(and ive been sitting at this computer for 10 hours reading posts and trying to figure this out and my bedsore has a bedsore)
my butt is killing me.
i have a xvcd/avi which i view fine on computer in wmp. i dl g spot(and the name gives me a thrill...but being old i forget why) i have codecs etc
i was having trouble burning but finally usted NTI to burn as data
and it does play back in comp but not in my stand alone dvd player
said bad disc.
so i dl tmpgen and able to get it to work and preview it as its encoding it
and the preview is upside down..
i also dl and then uninstalled so many damn encoding programs today
to chancge it to mpeg..the only one i liked was winmpg but the trial only allows five minutes. and i cant afford $39..and even reading some of the newbie posts i feel a Reagan moment come over me..its so involved.
please...something simple for me
