  1. I'm having trouble figuring out what to do about transferring old macrovision vhs tapes and threads on this topic tend to be confusing (lots of "my friend says the such-and-such works" replies, when I know such-and such does NOT work).

I'm wondering what people who own my exact machine are doing.I bought the Sima Video copy Master and found it did not work going to the DVD recorder from VHS.I'm looking for the least expensive solution to this problem.I see this Sorel Macro Master that seems reasonable, but what the hell is SCART??Does anyone know if this works with US equipment?

Also, slightly off topic for this forum but.....-if I bought a DV converter (like that canopus that everyone seems to like) to go straight into the computer, would that defeat macrovision??

  3. I also have the E50 and ran into the macrovision problem myself when I went to record some VHS tapes to DVD-R. What I have done was last week I ordered this device http://www.facetvideo.com/ . When I get the gadget I will post my results on the forum.

I'm expecting it to show up tomorrow and yes I will post my results soon after. There are other devices and some that are cheaper however I just don't feel safe ordering from an outfit out of the states.

  8. I can absolutely assure you that the Canopus AVDC (?) 100 tottally does in macrovision on vhs tapes. It's worked everytime for me. Just hold down the input select button for approx 20 seconds and no more problem, unless you shut off the box, then you'll have to hold the button again. There other good reasons to use this product, but this is the one you asked about.

Maybe the French are right more often than you do?
Is that really what you meant to say?
Perhaps:"Maybe the French are right more often than you ARE".
    Or,
"Maybe the French are right more often than you THINK".
Or even: "Maybe the French are right more often than you THINK THEY ARE".

But-"Maybe the French are right more often than you do" doesn't mean much in English.

For the record-I love the The French and France as much as an American could, I just couldn't resist this one......

Looks great but a bit high in price at $149. My office tells me my device I ordered came in today so later on today I will report back if it does work.
